No. Security guards only have arrest authority as far as any other citizen. This protects THEM in case they detain you*, *but it doesn't mean you will be punished for not yielding to their authority...you only have to listen to them to the extent that you'd have to listen to the person that put them in charge of their private property (ie. if a Mall guard tells you to leave).
Note - some instances where they can arrest you, but you are not punished for not listening are: if they witness you commiting a felony that threatens the public peace, if they are put in charge by a shop and they catch you shoplifting..some others....

You are not obligated to stop for any security guard or rent-a-cop. If you have committed an act that they believe is against the law they will most likely try to restrain you until the police arrive that is if they catch you. If the police do not find any justice in the security guards actions you will have the ability to sue the security guard. Hope this helps

security guards have no powers of arrest.if he works on the property where you are and he puts the lights on you it would be best to go ahead and stop.if not he can call the police and tell them you ran from them.then you have to worry about the cops.even if you stop he can not arrest you.if you choose to shoot him the finger he could call the police and tell them you did anything.he would do this just because he was mad at you.these security guards do not all have clean records. they have been none to lie about people.he could purposely lie in order to get even with you. just stop and appease the idiot.make him feel important and then leave.

No you don't although common courtesy may dictate otherwise.
And if you gave them the middle finger, that would be an offence under section 5 of the public order act so good luck with that one.

Flashing lights from any type emergency vehicle are requests for right of way. Consider that you might be the victim when such a vehicle needs that right of way. Yielding causes no harm to the yielder and may well help others. I recommend it.

Amber lights are a warning light...nothing else. Red & Blue lights (depending on where you live) signify Cops, Ambulances, and Fire Trucks. By law, you must yield to them.
Also, EMS crews in some places and FEMA sometimes uses green lights....you have to yield to them too.

Understand that if you don't stop, depending on your infraction, the security guard will call the police.
