You have found one here. I have seen Bobby several times. Bobby got his singing style from Aretha Franklins father Reverand L C Franklin. I'm talking about the little scream he does when he hits a high note. Bobby is a classic performer and I wish he would come to our town Santa Barbara.

Bobby's vocal approach is all him,
totally original, sheer soul,
top among tops!

When I'd started to learn guitar I did some
reading and decided it would be smart
to have plenty of BB King records.

Well, left & right were, alongside, all sorts
of Bobby Bland albums too. Wow what
a discovery! The moods he creates just
by his own sound makes an album a
learning experience, each time anew.

Thanks for bringing this to the fore for everyone.

I have a good old album of Bobby Blue Bland and B.B King live (nowm that's 5 "b's"). Great rendition of 3 o'clock in the morning blues.

Bobby's work into the 1970s was impressive.

Then he decided that gagging all the time was a great sound and I stopped listening.

There is a version of Thrill Is Gone that he did with B.B King and I love that version. It sounds like its live. My dad had it on tape and it sounded like it was recorded from a record. Glad to see some fans are still around.
