Le Ron Wilson was 18 and ONE of the youngest. Altho you have to be at least 17-18 to enlist, and normally 18 before you are deployed. I believe that SHOULD be the youngest death of a soilder.

To the person above me, I understand where your coming from. However the person asking seems polite in asking the question, and doesnt seem to have any malicious intention. If I were to die as a veteran of war. I would like it if people knew or cared enough to ask. No, I dont want them harassing my family. But that certainly doesnt seem like this guys intention.

That soldier was a man. It doesn't make any difference how old he was. He was doing what he thought was right. Just tell him thank you for standing on the wall and protecting you.

That soldier would have been a minimum of eighteen years of age. The names, ages, ranks and units of those who have died in this war against terrorism are posted on a DOD web site each day after the next-of-kin has been duly notified. That posting is in the form of a press release. The link to that web site is below. However, the names of the wounded are not released because they are covered under the Health Information Privacy Act (HIPA), a Federal law.
The second link below is to a web site which has a comprehensive list of all who have died in Operation Iraqi Freedom. If you use the "U.S. Casualties" feature, you can scroll down to a printable list of all who have died down range in that country. The age of each deceased is given in years.

At least 40 18-year-olds have been killed: http://www.spokesmanreview.com/iraq/database/casualties_searchresult.asp?LastName=&RestName=&Status=&Age=18&City=&StateProvince=&Country=&service_branch=&service_force=&IncidentDate=&DeathDate=&IncidentLocation=

You can go through the list to find the earliest birthdate. (Search on age 17 found no results.)
