It will depend on your RC code. Sometime you can get waivers. However if all depends on the circumstances.
You might have trouble getting a job.
College probably won't care.
Genrerally if you have less than an honorable discharge it doesn't look good.

BCD in most cases will be a very big obstacle to overcome. Rarely will your discharge be coded that will allow reentry without a corrected record which will require an appeal to upgrade the discharge type at least 2 years from date of discharge. BCD's usually will only be upgraded to a General discharge that may or may not allow enlistment into the Guard or Reserves, If you manage to get in there then you can request active duty and usually manage to get back in...Expect to be treated poorly in most requests and often be told you are not wanted or needed in positions that require alot of responsibility or trust. Bad Conduct Discharge is just that you have been found unable to act responsibly in a work environment..

The first 'option' to figure out is why you're getting the bad conduct discharge in the first place - that's what employers and colleges will want to know and what steps if any you've taken to rectify your current situation. We don't know what you've done so it's tough to say if you'll be able to rejoin again - the possibility is slim but given the press for people in Iraq that could be a way back in; go talk to a Recruiter. College will care - they'll care why you did what you did. So start making yourself proud of yourself - you know why you did what you did - resolve it; make a promise you'll get better every day; every month to make you and your family PROUD of your actions. The government has spent a lot of tax dollars on your training; please use it wisely.

You are not being completely truthful or leaving important information out of your question. A hardship leave is given to people that need it and have it documented. If you got a BCD then man up and realize that you will never be let back into any military service. And be thankful that a job application today does not require you to answer that type of question.

Can't you go to the ADC? They should be able to help you. Or legal, i'm not sure which one to go to, but they should be able to tell you your options or direct you where to go.
