Couple of tricks I tried with my 2:
When she gets mouthing hard and hurts you yip really loud. If she bit one of her littermates too hard, they would cry out - mimic that sound. (That worked with dog #1).
Dog number 2 still got carried away - so I had to try something else - when he would mouth too hard - he's usually biting my hand - I'd slip my finger to the back of this throat - just past the point of his gag reflex. Not hard and not enough to hurt him - just to trigger that reflex real quick. After a couple of times dog #2 learned not to bite so hard.
A friend of mine broke her dog of mouthing people by spraying bitter apple on the person and then the dog got a taste of that. Only took a few times for the dog to realize people don't taste good.
Be sure you are not playing games that encourage the mouthing behavior. The dog may not be able to understand the difference.
Good Luck.

Here's what I did to my 6 month old german shepherd/husky mix who was a really bad mouther when I got him. I found this on a website when I googled dog mouthing. When he starts to grab your hand instead of pulling your hand away, continue to put it in his mouth until he starts to back away from you. What this does is show your dominance over him, and he will not like it. I had to do it about 4 times before my pup stopped mouthing me. It was funny to watch him when he was learning because he'd go to take my hand in his mouth and then he'd start to lick me. It was like he remembered and didn't want to repeat that again. It doesn't hurt them at all, but it really does work.

The best way I have done with our 10 month is when she gets too playful and they will, turn around and act uninterested. This drives them crazy. You are showing her that we will not play until you stop biting. Also when she does nip make a loud sharp but quick squeal. She should stop whatever she is doing to investigate the sound. One last piece of advice PetSmart/ Petco has a very good tag rope that helps too. Good Luck !

If you are playing with your dog and she starts mouthing, just get up and walk away - completely stop playing with her and don't say anything. She will learn that when she bites the play stops. If she wants to keep playing, she'll stop biting.

Dogs teach each other discipline at a very Young age. They Bite and pull each others ears. I don't recommend you bite your dog! However if you will give it a yank when she mouths you she will get the message. Also when you do this tell her NO!

you've got to let her know she is hurting you. when she bites too hard, say out loud OUCH! NO! and walk away from her. go back after a few minutes and if she does it again, repeat. keep doing this until she gets the idea you won't tolerate it. hope this helps :-)
