Hi Isaac...many variables can contribute to blood in the stool. You hadn't mentioned if your cat also has diarrhoea or normal firm stools. If the cat is constipated and is straining there will be some blood. There are many parasites which can present bloody stools such as tapeworms, roundworms, giardia http://www.thepetcenter.com/exa/gia.html coccidia http://www.sniksnak.com/cathealth/coccidiosis.html and others. All require veterinary attention to treat with medication. If there's been a sudden change in diet this could be one contributing factor, however most cats experience loose stools as a result rather than blood.
Here's a chart of fecal problems with cats:
http://www.tuhinabengals.com/feline_health_poo_guide.htm.
Consider having her evaluated soon. Costs vary from each clinic so it's difficult to give you an approximate amount. Save a sample of the bloody faeces in a plastic bag and write your last name, the date, time of sample taken and then refridgerate. The fresher the sample the better for the fecal floatation exam prior to your appointment.

If this was yourself, you would be at the emergency room by now. All animals can be hard to treat as they have no way of communicating with us as to what is wrong or how they feel. Now be a good human and put some poo in a bag along with the kitty & take them to the vet, have the poo and blood work tested and get a physical examination too. Good luck & hope all is well with your cat.

Look at it exactly as you would if you have blood in your stool. Then, go from there. Was her stool especially hard? Could it be she just broke a blood vessel? Is it just a small amount of red, on the outside? That may be all it is.
If it is more than that, or if her stool has blood on the inside of the stool, or if there are large amounts of blood, then I would take her into the vet immediately. If not, then watch it over the next day or so, and see if it goes away.

Could be alot of things, does the food you feed her/him have alot of red pieces...sometimes red food coloring looks bloody in stools but it is pretty harmless. How old is your cat? Are the stools runny? If your cat is rather young, and the stools are formed, I would just keep an eye out, make sure it is eating and drinking and playing. If any of those things change, you might need to see a vet (and take a fresh stool sample with you). I hope this helps, Good luck

it means you need to take him to the vet!
Blood in his stool could be a couple of things:
1. He ate something that cut his sphincter and it will heal on it's own.
2. He has a polyp in his colon and could turn to cancer
3. He ate string and it cut his insides.
I know you don't want to study it this hard but you need to look and see what kind of blood it is...
If it is bright red, healthy looking blood it is prob. #1.
If it is dark and thick blood it could be #2 or #3.
But no matter what it is you should still take him to see a vet... ANY blood in stool or in urine is a bad thing that should be checked out!

It means your cat needs a trip to the vet. Could be some GI issue or could be a parasite like parvo. Keep this cat away from any other animals you have until you find out.

Could be a few things, possible worms, then it could also be the type of food they are eatting, or they could just have a cold. Then again, if it is female, she may be in heat.. Just keep an eye on it for a day or two, see if it gets to bad, if it gets red red, take to the vet...

it means you need to go to the vet in the morning. if from an injury, it could be life threatening. if from parasites or protozoans, the vet will need to do a fecal and determine WHY and how to eliviate those pests with medication.
in any case, vet in the morning.
