How long does digestion take...from eating to the end result?

Others are saying it depends, everyone is different, and that's true, we all have different digestive systems and we all eat differently. Of course the type of diet you have will make a difference in the time it takes to digest the food and have the waste leave your body.

Fruits and vegetables are very quick to digest where as protein and fats take much longer, as do processed foods.

Depending on your diet, if it's filled with foods that are difficult to digest, you will naturally have slower completion. A person eating mainly fruits and vegetables will complete the digestive process much faster.

Mouth to other end total time about 3 days but some are faster and some are slower, and if you are sick, could be faster etc. You can do a scientific study and ingest a dye marker and watch for the color to appear. While you may have a BM every day it is not made up of the food you ate that day.
