well if it is a s-video cord..there should be a spot on the back of your tv that says s-video. there should also be a s-video spot on the back of your dvd player or satallite receiver that you plug the other end into. after that you should look for an input button on your tv remote or on your tv. push that input button until your picture comes in.

if it is the red, yellow, white cords that you are talking about plug one end into your tv input 1 or 2 on the back of your tv matching up the colors and the other end of the cords into the device you are using such as dvd or receiver. change your tv input to video 1 or video 2.

Your remote or buttons on the side of the TV usually have 1 button labeled "Input" or "Source".

Each time you push it - the TV changes what input you are watching. Keep pushing the button until the on-screen display says "SVideo" or "Svideo1"
