If they get too lethargic, nasty litter boxes, sneezing, etc., take to the doc for tests and medicine. Don't give OTC meds to pets.

Cats are unique creatures. They are totally different from people and only slightly resemble dogs. I don't know that you have to be educated on all the diseases and cures for cats - that's why we have vets. But you do need to know how to care for the cat and recognize when it is not well. Cats, by nature, do not usually display any outward signs of pain. You need to get to know their personality and habits and look for any sudden changes. Hiding is usually one sign of a sick cat, as well as not eating.

Big thing with cats is respiratory problems, and those are easy to spot because of the g**k that comes out of their eyes and nose. It's pretty gross. Most cats fair pretty well, if your cat becomes lethargic for more than 3 days, or stops eating, drinking or using the litter box, take it to a vet, other than that, they are overall pretty healthy and don't give you much reason for concern.

Depends upon what the cat gets sick from. Various diseases have different sypmtoms and medications. Your question is simply too broad to answer.
