Yeah i would like to start a club at my school. I would like it to be sort of like a club that helps the world and communities out. Like help more people come aware of the small things they can do to conserve energy or do things to raise money for people in need or children or help put smiles on people in the war. My school already has a key club that raises money and stuff for the children's hospital and a couple things for the soldiers but i would like to start another club that concentrates on the small things also that will do a lot of help. Any ideas on clubs that are like that or one i should make (like name ideas) would be great thank you! Also if you have any ideas on fundraisers or any small things to help out with please let me know and thank you =]

I'm going to make my answer very personal. I'm not saying that you should do exactly this, but I hope it will spur you to pick a cause and GO FOR IT.

If I could live my high school years over, I would most definitely have started a club that advocated for a cause. It would have been focused either on the environment or the arts.

If it had been focused on the former, it would have had a regular column in the student newspaper talking about ways students can save energy and reduce their carbon footprints, it would have had a page of the high school web site emphasizing the same (although the web didn't exist back then in the dark ages), it would have started a recycling program at the school (starting with the lunch room) that recycled not only metals and paper and plastic, but also food for the compost pile (which then could have been used by FAA and 4H for its projects). It would have provided links to the city/county's mass transit resources. It would have talked about why it's so much better for the environment to ride the bus instead of driving a car. It would have promoted carpooling. And on and on and on....

For the arts: the club would have produced a regular column in the school newspaper and its web site about upcoming arts-related activities (communty theater, touring companies, art openings, map of local arts-related sites, dance classes, and on and on). It would have had a Flickr site of club members in action related to their arts activities. It would have a web site or column in the local paper from students, testifiying about how drawing, painting, theater, dance, whatever, had made a difference in their lives. The club would have sponsored a school-based exhibit of art, a poetry slam, a theater production... and on and on.

If you like animals you could start a club that helps your area animal shelter.By collecting old blankets, rugs, and towels to put in the kennels to keep them warm. This is some thing any one can do but it really means a lot to the animals. You could start a volunteer group at the shelter to walk dogs.I have been doing this for 2 years and I love it.

The Pencil Project would be PERFECT for you and it is very easy to get involved. It is very rewarding too. You will learn how a small thing like a pencil can make such a HUGE difference in the life of a needy child.
