I believe General Motors does! It seems that Nascar caters to GM. They can run any engine package they want. Each time Ford & Dodge sumit a new engine package Nascar rejects it.I think as well as a lot of people I know that the playing field is not fair and leans toward GM in a big way. That's why we all stop watching Nascar races and do not support Nascar by buying anything with Nascar attached to it. Make the playing field even and we'll starting watching again. Everybody's sick of watching Chevrolet win every race. It's not a true picture of chevrolet because they are NOT very good cars. I know, I had a couple. I'll never buy another chevy.Wake up America! Nascar is nothing but Fake racing until they can sell the company to a private investment firm.

I have to agree, but it's not G.M., its Rick Hendrick. The France family is in co-hoots with him . That's why the most popular driver is now in the Hendrick camp. And you left out Toyota. They to are included in the screwing.

I'll tell you a little secret about Chevrolet and racing. Chevrolet has always been the most adaptable to the sport as far as modifications are made to bring it into racing. Chrysler or Dodge would be second, and Ford would be third. Although Ford wasn't quite as innovative as Chrysler, that enabled them to maintain consistency. But, the innovation is what makes the #12, the #2 . and the #42 run more agressively. So since Chevrolet has remained more iconic to the American public, it's performance is more inherent in our historys technicians. It's more stable, easy, proven, and adaptive to high performance theory.Hendrick Motorsports just so happens to run Chevrolet. Smart man that Rick Hendrick. It seems like the Chevrolets win most of the races. Remember when Tony Stewart used to drive Chevrolet? Or even Kyle Busch? As of the current NASCAR the biggest competitors seem to be driving Chevrolets. But then again the best drivers are also driving Chevrolets. Maybe you might like it better if Toyota wins a few races in 2008. It's not just the car manufacturer, it's the whole team. Watch what Joe Gibbs Racing does in 2008, and you might eat your words.

This from an article on NASCAR.com:

When it was mentioned to France that one respected auto magazine had reported that European banking interests had inquired about the availability of purchasing NASCAR, France added: "All the time there are inquiries, and we do not take these from private equity firms or anyone else. We're just not for sale. We can't be any clearer than that. The family is committed -- my uncle [vice chairman James France], my sister [vice president and assistant treasurer Lesa Kennedy] and myself. ... You're just going to hear it from me as directly as I can: NASCAR is not for sale."

Now, about the Chevy comment: You didn't say what brand of car you drive now, is that because you drive a Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Subaru, etc.?

I've owned Chevys for the past 15 yrs, and every one has been a very good vehicle. My brother switched from Ford to Chevy about four yrs ago, and will not go back to Ford. My sister has had her Buick Century for about 10 yrs now, other than the occasional maintenance items, battery, alternator, belts, hoses, wiper blades, tires, etc. no problems. My mother-in-law buys a new Buick Park Avenue every 125,000 miles. My next door neighbor used to buy dodge pickup trucks, but switched to Chevy 2 yrs ago, and is very happy he did.
General Motors makes a fine product. I don't know about their baseline subcompact models, no one I know will get in one of those, and the Chevy Colorado eats tires, but that's made by Izusu I think. I know it's some Japanese company that manufactures it.

I've always been a "bow tie" fan when it comes to NASCAR, and I will never be sick of watching them win, even if it IS every race, which it hasn't been. It's not NASCAR's fault if Chevy makes the best engine block.

I think like everyone else has said, The France family Own
and CONTROL Nascar, I am partial to Chevy. But I am getting old enough My Monte Carlo was getting harder to get in and out of.so I traded for a Chrysler mini van. I guess all this has nothing to do with racing, what it boils down to is, Canada makes better Automobiles than Mexico....

no one SANE!! that is for sure. is your answer to your Q.
As for your other opinion rant Ford, Dodge and Toys need to step it up. Ford maybe should concentrate on there own products and stop trying to by every other car manufacture in trouble or for sale they might make something that can compete.
Dodge knows now it takes time to get back where they were decades ago even with Ray Everham the great it takes time to get back to the top. Not a fan of his but he did play a major part in leading Gordon to where he is today. Not a fan of his(JG) either.
Toys should go have a mental examination for putting the mouth of the mid south M.W.as there first leader in NA$CAR. What were they thinking? With more teams this year I am sure they are going to be doing much better. MW should go back to trying to race. It needs his full attention. My guess he is going to have to buddy up with one of the other teams.

The Fans.(I wish) No really the France family does. There was something today on Jayski.com about that their might be a foreign investment company that owns the F1 series trying to buy NASCAR, but Brian France said that its not true.

Bill France Jr. is the son of NASCAR founder Bill France Sr.

I think NASCAR is not fake and when you say that it would be better to be sold to a private investment firm, I don't see how that will do anything. The France family is a very private investment firm.

If you have such a low opinion of NASCAR, then why do you bother with it? The France family owns it, and the fans and sponsors pay for it.
