they still own you, but you can always cut out of work to get stuff done. I had the same issue when I got out of the AF, but I just told my supervisor I had to go and left work (lol). Do what you gotta do (talk to your 1Sgt..maybe he or she can help)!

A general rule of thumb for an ETS is your ETS Date minus terminal leave, then usually about 30 days before that. You'll be armed with a check list with certin things that need to be completed by certin times.

Now this isn't a 30 day vacation. Your still required to be at work, your duties just normaly require you to out process. There are several factors that can change this too. If your unit is deploying, dont be a Blue Falcon and skip out on work trying to get these guys out the door while your about to go home for good. I dont know what sort of ops temp your unit is working or what your manning is, but that could be a large factor in the process.

The Army is allowed to give you 7-10 days to clear the unit and post. That's it. If they give you more, they are being nice.

But during those 20 days, you're still in the army.

Do what you're told. Let them deal with it if you don't complete out processing on time.

yes... but they usually will not. I did not to anything my last 30 days active duty except clean my gear and watch dvds....

They must not like you very much.

Sorry to put it like that, but it sounds like that.

yes they can, they can even punish you, put you in the brig and even demote you if they want to. if they are real pricks then they can involuntarily extend you.
