I'd say,take your own advice! Daily is the key word.Sometimes I have to work on my sobriety from hour to hour & even minute to minute.Remember we will always be alcoholics as long as we live.The good news is it does get easier.I've been thru all the steps in last 1 1/2 years but whats more important to me is working them on a daily basis.Meetings & sponsorship are a must.I go to meetings not only to learn how to work the steps but also to learn how to live a better life and my sponsor,with over 20 years of sobriety,lets me know when I'm screwin up.And believe me thats on a reguler basis also.{ :) My program tells me to give back what was so generously givin to me.So helping other alci's & trying to be the best person i can be is a DAILY routine for me.Last but not least I need to keep an open & honest relationship with myself & my HP everyday in order to keep my sobriety and to keep this wonderful life HE has shown me.I refuse to waste anymore time with alcohol!! thx tazman

it is important to start your day the right way, leave time after getting up, to meditate, asking for guidance & direction. then plan your day. stop, when getting agitated or fearful at anytime, pause, and ask your HP for direction. it is very easy, to collect resentments all day long, especially, when you act out of fear. talk to your sponsor, or a fellow alcoholic, and do a 10 step immediately, to get on the right path again. before going to bed, review your day, give yourself credit for things well done, and if there are any resentments left, call & do another 10 step. don't let it carry over into the next day, or longer, otherwise having a beer (or 7) will seem like a pretty good idea after a while. i work in the restaurant business, and resentment & fear are easy to come by, dealing with rude customers, asshole managers, drama queen co-workers, etc. on a daily basis. when i get affected by it, i take a few minutes alone outside, to stop myself from getting sucked into the downward spiral of fear, anger, and resentment. i either talk to one of my co-workers, who are also in AA, and do a quick 10 step, or i call my sponsor, as soon as possible. keeping spiritually fit on a daily basis helps us do it one day at a time. it doesn't matter, how much sober time we have logged, we are all just one drink away from disaster. i've had my sponsor call me a while back at 4 am, sobbing, because his longtime lady broke it off; he's been sober for 15 years now. don't ever be ashamed to call your sponsor, or another AA buddy anytime, if you have an emergency; false pride can be deadly - it is a luxury we can't afford. it is vitally important, to work helping others get sober, once you've gone through the steps yourself for the first time. good luck, friend !

Keep a copy of the serenity prayer in your wallet and look at that daily. Also always remember where you've been and where it is you want to go and that will be motivation to stay sober. I wish you luck! Just take it one day at a time like they say in AA and you will be okay.

Then a meeting as often as possible to find new comers to work with.

Remind themselves of the reasons they stopped drinking - perhaps even tuck a small list of the top reasons in your wallet or purse to have a constant reminder with you. The best reasons for staying sober are the same one that got you sober in the first place.

Find as many people to help support you as possible and talk to them when you feel weak.
Exercise is a great help.
Eating healthy and getting plenty of water will help also. When you start feeling healthy you don't want to give that up.

limit yourself to only one or two drinks a day
Edit ;
Bore me with the facts because i think that it is a bogus claim and that AA is a bogus organization
I think that it takes far more inner discipline to walk into a bar , have one drink of something good , be sociable and drink coffee and Coke (R) all night then it does not to walk in at all.
Making perpetual patients out of people may promote the program but it doesn't cure the person.
