i bought advantage and it works very quick and it's really good, my puppy has no fleas. flea baths kill most of them but not all of them, then you've still got them in your house. we gave my pup a flea bath then bombed the house and we still had fleas. then we bought advantage becuase it said it was the quickest acting one.. the next day they were gone ! it take like a few hours or something.

Flea shampoos really don't work, I wouldn't bother. All they do is wash off some of the current fleas.
Get some proper treatment from a vets, like Frontline or Advantage. If your puppy is 8 weeks or older he can have any of these. If he's under 8 weeks, it has to be Frontline spray.
Do not use flea collars, they are the most useless flea 'treatment' of all! Really anything you buy in a store is not going to be helpful because stores aren't licensed to sell the proper drugs for flea treatment.

A good flea shampoo, and a dose of Frontline from your Vet, appropriate for your dogs size and age.Frontline will not only quickly kill any fleas on you dog,but prevents them for a month.Your Vet will have the proper kind to give a pup that young,do not apply a preventative you have bought yourself on a pup that young. The frontline you get at the Vet works 10 times better than store bought stuff anyway. You can also buy flea killing carpet refresher, that you leave on for 30 minutes and vacuum up,and sprays for bedding and furniture.Since you pup is so young be sure to ask the Vets advice on what ones are safe to use.

never put flea shampoo on a puppy unless it is labeled for puppies. what I've done is use baby shampoo once a week on my pug. it's great for puppies and it seems to kill them pesky fleas. it's not an overnight great wonder... but it will work. and don't do any drastic measures of flea prevention on pups because they are very sensitive. don't go out unless for potty time and when you are on walks, stick to the pavement. if the fleas are still a bother ask your vet for help and they would be glad to help.

try using advantage.
It's funny that I stumbled upon this question, because we just found out today that our puppy has fleas too!
It's a natural thing, so don't be alarmed.
And also, it is flea season, so that might be another reason why your dog got fleas.
Get some advantage flea killer, and a flea bath, then if you happen to see a flea on your puppy, then just pull it off and put it down the sink!
Occasionally check for fleas on your puppy too!

A flea bath is the best, it got them right off my dog.
There is also a cream that you can put on the back of there neck's where the dog can't reach to lick but the fleas head right to it and that kills them off.
You could maybe even try a flea collar, I have never really tried one of these but I heard they work.
I can't remember the name of the cream, but I'm sure your vet would know because that is where I got the cream from.
Good luck with the fleas, I'm sure it will all work out for you. :]

Capstar works well but it wears off in twenty four hours. Advantix is also great. You need to treat your house and yard though or the problem won't go away.

drop a teaspoon of distilled white vinegar into each bowl of drinking water for your puppy. The ratio of one teaspoon to one quart of water is for a 40 pound animal.
in the bath add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a pitcher of warm water and pour it over your puppy.
