Some people pick up skiing or snow boarding instantly and others never master either. But most people learn quickly with some instruction. I believe skiing is a little easier to learn the beginning skills but skiing has a much longer learning curve. The first few days on a snowboad is spent falling a lot. But after the 3rd or 4th day your body begins to respond to the motion of the board. It is likely to take 2 or 3 lessons to make it from the learning hill to the bunny slope but then progrees is rapid from there to the main slopes of the ski/snowboard area. With skiing you can get off the learning hill and on to the bunny slope in the first lesson and it does not take long to get onto the main slopes but you are not likely to be carving beautiful turns for a couple of seasons. Many maybe even most skiers never reach the expert level. But all have a great deal of fun starting with the first lesson.

The professor's assessment is right on, but also consider what other sports you do. If you know how to skate, especially urban rollerblading, hills curbs, potholes, etc. - SKI. I have taught lessons where someone was a good skater and had them starting parallel turns in an hour. If you skateboard or surf - SNOWBOARD. Other sports also have significant cross-overs none are as strong as above.
If you have considerable skills in either of the above consider spending the extra money and getting a private lesson (most mountains will offer an upgrade with a starters special). Reason: progressions in group lessons are usually dictated by the weakest learner, so if you have strong cross-over skills you will not maximize your advancement.

If you don't know how to do either, and your young and flexible then snowboarding.
The first couple of times snowboarding is more difficult because you spend so much time picking yourself up off the ground. But, the curve is much shorter from novice to advanced than with skiing.
Snowboarding is difficult for an older person, 35+ because the falls usually end up on your knees or bum - you get really sore after the first lesson.

I could need to say the flute. actually that's the simplest of all of them , nonetheless , it may be tricky. Although it's rather convenient to seize directly to.. i don't propose a brass software akin to trumpet, mellophone/french horn, trombone, and many others on account that the ones are to be highly tricky to a man or woman that has honestly certainly not performed an software earlier than.
