at first no, but eventually you will think of the other person as just a friend and you could never imagine being anything else

Sure. Why not? People are people. Ask yourself if this: if the woman you've in mind were 75, would you still be interested in hanging? Sexuality is a wonderful option we all have ultmately, but if you're at all diffident or not quite certain which way her interests might swing, well just wait it out if you've the patience. Loads of peeps ( not quite there lesbians) can be so selfish with the etc. If the object of your affections is in a long term relationship with another woman, well you've just got to suck it up and move on or just make a date to have a drink oppo her in a neutral bar/tavern/pub. I think you're being used as a chump if this is the case. Get on with your life and why don't you put it to her: I am so lonely and who would you recommend amongst your friends or acquaintances that I hook up with? Boy, if she goes all blushes and snippy you know you've got her. If she calmly suggests "Annie" or "Estelle", well there you are you've still got her.

Yes, it's possible but I seriously don't think it's really that common. I've had completely platonic friendships with guys & in many (not all) cases, the guys seemed to have purely platonic feelings toward me. Also, my SO has had several platonic friendships with women.

Of course.

I have a lot of platonic friendships with men (and no, I'm not butt ugly!). Just because you get along with someone of the opposite sex, it doesn't mean you need to try and have a relationship with that person!

Most of my friends are men.

I must say though, there's a good chance that one of you may develop a crush on the other - but these things will pass.

try not thinking of your 'platonic' buddy as being of ANY GENDER, yet once you're 'already in a intense courting' with this individual i'd ask your self 'why' you like it to be purely 'platonic' and while you're questioning in case you might have a 'platonic' courting with a distinctive individual than the single you're in the 'intense courting' with, i think of you will desire to 'make advantageous the platonic courting is 'ok' with your 'love' too.

Ace boy, listen platonic female friends are generally forced upon a guy when he is nice or sweet but not the guy she wants. Its not a badge of honor! Its like a ribbon of participation while the winner is getting a gold ribbon.

Mmm ... a truly platonic relationship with a woman ...

Why not? It depends on your ... frame of mind. I mean, even when you are not a queer chap (gay), but a 'hombre hombre' I think you can love a woman without having ... hm hm hm ...sexual intercourse (it is not an easy matter, yet it is possible).

Yes, it's possible. I dont know why everyone thinks its sooooo hard to do. Not everyone is obsessed with having sex, but I guess those who are will say its impossible. I have several guy friends and I dont have sex with them. Alot of people I know have friends of the opposite sex, sometimes best friends, and theyre not having sex with them either. I guess you just have to be the kind of person who can look at the opposite sex and NOT just have one thing on your mind.

Me -- straight.
I was raised with 2 brothers and my dad was my hero. I've always been drawn to guys -- not necessarilly sexually. I have had more guy FRIENDS in my life than girl friends.....yes, most definitely. I STILL tend to have more guy friends and I've been married 25 years and my husband totally understands as it's totally platonic.

sorry i have to say~ absolutely~ i have had tons of platonic relationships with guys (im a girl~ duh lol) it doesnt always lead to sex & those that say it always will are wrong~ all my best friends have been men~ i guess its because most of them arent gossips & they can usually keep a secret, they also dont tend to be judgemental like alot of women can~ i never had sex with a guy friend, i guess i always valued the friendship more than a sexual relationship :)
