I am 24....i dated my first love for 3 years in highschool...we had a very bad break up and didnt speak to one another for another 2 years. He is the only guy that i have ever been in love with....A couple of years ago we became friends again, we speak and hangout occasionally.... more recently he has been expressing deeper feelings for me...wanting more...deeper friendship, possible relationship....However, with in this past year i have been finally feeling like i am really over him. But theres always that unexplainable feeling that i get when im with him....he will always have a small piece of my heart. I am not sure if i should pursue the possibility of a relationship? We worked very good in the past, but i feel like so much time has passed....we are to totally different people. And i must admit...i am also afraid...i believe that this guy has the power to make me truley happy, but also the power to hurt me again...What do you guys think about rekindling past relationships???

Wow I feel for you. I have gone through like the same thing...except my ex wasn't good for me, we were just in love. If he always treated you well, then I don't see any reason not to give this dude another shot. But if he was bad to you, I wouldn't put myself in the situation again, especially since you already know you are prone to fall for him. Pray about it and think long and hard about whether you want this type of person in your life again. You will probably be able to answer it yourself. Good luck!

You obviously didnt work that good in the past or there would have not been a break up much less a bitter one followed by 2 yrs of silence.
Unless you both have worked out the problem that caused the break up, it will repeat again.

i married my first love and high school sweetheart., we dated on and off for a long time, you can be with someone else and you might just fall in love again, but it will never be the same as a the person you trully love. thats what happend to us, we tried dating other people we just couldn't let each other go. so we're married happily with two kids.

Hmm sometimes it is hard to fight those feelings. It would be a chance worth taking if you feel it's right. Who you are now is probably much different than what you were in high school.
