what has happened to the Wednesday prayer meetings? It seems like a lot of churches just have Bible study. Some will take a few requests and one person prays for a minute or two and that's it. This is serious folks. If you are in a church like that, please consider talking to your pastor about it. People used to gather in small groups and pray for 20 minutes or more. How are we going to see revival if Christians won't pray together?

What happened to unceasing prayer?

Romans 1:9
For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers

1 Thessalonians 1:3
Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father

1 Thessalonians 2:13
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

We shall not have revival, the Word of God revealed in the bible has said we shall have a great falling away (apostacy) , and evidence of it surrounds us.

Even so, come Lord Jesus.

We have Wednesday Prayer at my church. We also just had our Home Town Revival the first week of Nov. we had church from Sunday to Friday night.
We use to have a Saturday evening prayerr time, but we started the Pastors Prayer Team , you call in with a prayer request and like 140 people praye for you for the entire month and when you receive a praise you call that in too.
It's sad that more churches don't do that anymore. What a shame.

Very good; I agree. But not only that, I believe that no church should ever close its doors; I believe that every church should be open 24/7 with a pastor on staff for every 12 hrs. of time.
I had the idea one night when I was distraught and wanted to go into a church to pray and they were all locked up tight.
Thought about it and realized "Why are the churches closed?!"
Think about it; satan attacks people the most at night; people are more lonely and if suicidal, they are more suicidal at night.
People are the most vulnerable at night.
Oh, and yes, there should be all night security at the churches too if they were open all night.
I want to start a revolution and that could do it if the churches never closed.
So help me out; do what you can; spread the word about this. I think it's inexcusable for churches to close.
Jesus makes Himself available for us to pray to Him 24/7 and I know He doesn't like the churches being closed.

At my church we have Morning Glory Prayer every morning from 5:30 am until 8:30 am. Bible study and prayer on Wednesday and Bible study. Our pastor believes prayer is the key to the kingdom and faith unlocks the door. We have a group of intercessors that are always "on call" to pray. Come join our church

Dear Friend,

How wonderful it is that the Lord has made you sensitive to spiritual truth.

However, it isn't "just" Wednesday night prayer meetings or whatever night prayer meeting is held that is messed up, we are being brainwashed into secularism.

For instance, no more Sunday night services on Father's Day.. Mother's Day, etc. Why? Because for some reason we are compromising WITH the world and declaring, "Everyone needs FAMILY time." And I say, "HOG WASH!"

I never heard of such a STUPID excuse for not coming to worship the living person of Jesus Christ. So... should Jesus return on a man made holiday such as Father's Day to retrieve His Bride and Jesus says, "Why aren't you in my Father's house?" And the response is, "Oh, we needed family time ...INSTEAD of worshiping You."

You've got to be KIDDING! Are we THAT ...messed up spiritually? YUP! Satan has oozed himself into the church and now we are ACTING just like the rest of the world. Dangerous folks. Absolutely...DANGEROUS!

Even if the pastor is the ONLY one who shows up on Prayer Meeting night, or a holiday, or the like. At least he is ...setting a Godly example; and sooner or later the Holy Spirit will convict others to join in worshiping and praying as well. What ever happened to making self sacrifices for the One who sacrificed...EVERYTHING for us?

In His service,

I am sorry to say that interest in traditional Christianity is falling by the way side. People are getting more into Earth-Based religions with out all of the guilt and fear of damnation.
People are also starting to think for themselves and looking into Buddhism, Wicca, Taoism and Pantheism. Folks want to make their own decisions and think for themselves and be responsible for their own actions. The churches are losing control and power over the free mind of modern man. And man is tired of giving his hard earned money to a church that does nothing for anyone. "That is why services are cut back. No one is interested in being lead around by the nose anymore." I am sorry if this upsets you. You seem to truly care.

Prayer together is very important in my church; we are often urged to join together in small groups. But not usually for as long as 20 minutes. I would like to try that.

Our church has a Bible Study but we conduct it just like every other service. We spend alot of time in prayer,at least 30 minutes. Our Wed. night service is 7:30-9:00. But what you said is absolutely right, straight, dead on.

Prayer is important but so is study. Why not have prayer on Thursday and study on Wednesday. Personally I think that prayer is on the decline; however study as well is also on the decline. Both are very important and neither should be ignored.

My church doesn't have that, but I do have groups of other people that I pray with. I think that people do pray with other Christians whether there is a day for it at church or not.

It is because of the false gospels preached, the Broadway gospels preached by wolves in sheep clothing (Matt 7:13-29).

Many who are unconverted presumed that they are, sealed and have a ticket to heaven, why need to pray? In fact vast majority of us are going to face a rude shock....Matt 7:21-23, are addressed to pastors, leaders, elders, deacons, Sunday school teachers, missionaries, workers etc, etc.....

Have you known what the Strait Gate, Narrow Way Gospel is? Do you know how difficult is it to be saved?

How long did it take Abraham to be '"saved'"?
How long was it, after God revealed Himself to Jacob, before Jacob was '"saved'"?

If you really understand Rev 3:17-19, you know most of us are NOT YET saved, but just too blind to see our true spiritual state before God. May God have mercy upon us.

email me if you are really interested in true revival, and not the false ones of Benny Hinn etc, etc...!
