my baby boy is 1yr old and has colds and been coughing for 2wks already.. i gave him medicine as prescribed by his pedia for a week but didnt help at all.. he has cough and colds until now and he's not taking any meds... but been drinking a lot of water.. i know having cough for more than a week is not good...what should i get rid of it?

Sounds like my kids!!! I know how you feel, it can be frustrating! My Dr. said, dont worry if the cough lasts for a few weeks! As long as they are not getting worse, or have a fever, or just acting miserable.
My daughter just got over a cough that she had for the entire mo. of Oct! It was viral, so there was nothing I could do, except put a cool mist humidifier in her room. Try that.

from my own experience (watching 5 family kids growing up) I can tell you that 1yr olds often have coughs that last 2-3 weeks or more..
don't fret too much, just make sure he has plenty of water around so he can have it when he wants.

Have your child checked for asthma, my son had the same issue when he was that age(they really don't like to label kids with asthma that early) but our doctor was on the ball and has really made a difference.

take the baby back to doctor it could be related to allergeries or what ever generaly colds dont' last that long. it should disappear soon but the doc is always best remedy. take care.
