You are more than likely looking for a specific answer and hopefully the people that have answered have the one you want.
If it is an honest question there were a few more effects than just two.
Mainly, though,
Boldness-to speak in the faces of diversity
Courage-to overcome their fears
Wisdom-to speak Truth
Understanding-how to speak that Truth
Strength-to withstand what they were about to go through
And most importantly-Love-to have compassion on the people they were going to.
I also see a few more things but I am sure you get the drift.

1. Gifts of the spirit, like prophecy and speaking in tongues
2.The courage and faith to go out into the world and die that others might learn the truth and live

First HE gave them understanding of Jesus' true teaching.
Then HE empowered them to go forth & preach the Gospel.
