Yes, there are many people who do other horrible crimes, but just because what Vick did was to dogs doesn't mean that it's not a disgusting crime. Vick was a role model for children, and this is what he is showing them as good behavior? That is horrible. He took innocent dogs and forced them to fight. He empowered other people to do the same. They KILLED dogs because they weren't aggressive enough! That's BULL****!!!
And you are OBVIOUSLY an idiot, because you think that the human race is so far above every other. What makes human life THAT MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than a dog's life? Both have thoughts and feelings. Vick is just as bad as all the human-murderers out there. Animal abuse leads to human abuse. It is a proven fact that in many cases, this is what happens. It's a good thing we caught Vick while he was hurting the dogs, because with any luck, he will get locked away and lose the ability to hurt anyone ever again. I hope to God that he gets kicked off the NFL for good, to show that dog fighting cannot be tolerated by anyone, even a celebrity.

All serial killers start by hurting animals. If he had no thought of the pain he was causing to a dog do you think he would care if he did the same to a human. Every person I have seen abuse dogs have always abused humans as well. If they would make animal abuse a felony we would get more people off the streets that would just end up doing the same to humans. Also the dog fighting world and drug dealing world go hand in hand. Those who run dog fighting ring also deal drugs and use these killer dogs as guard dogs. When they are thur with the dogs those they do not kill are let loose to run the streets and harm people. Dogs give humans endless devotion and love. When you go and torture this creature that would do anything for you, that is just disgusting!

It is not that we care more about this than child molesters...in fact, if you watch the news, there are TONS of stories on murders and child abuse.

The only reason Vick's was such a big deal was because he is a celebrity/sports star!

Well dogs have no one else to defend them, they are loyal and loving of their masters and look what it gets them, abused, hurt, fought and killed. I hate dog abusers like that but I hate child abusers more, I have children and the thought of that happening would make me want to kill the guy who did it. Dogs are not the same as humans, that's the plain truth of it but there are always going to be very active animal protesters out there fighting for animals rights and that's a good thing too cause animals don't have a voice. It's more or less the media that overplays the different stories since some get more attention and unfortunately a murder of a human is not a big news draw it seems, I guess were all used to the doom and gloom and it no longer shocks us.

Second, your "only dogs" comments doesn't DESERVE commnet. All living things feel. If you think it is okay to abuse animals then, frankly, it is not a surprise that you would ask such a question. there is no thing as "just a dog."

Third, he did not just fight animals, he tortured them when they lost until they were dead. both things are illegal. .both show a sign of a sick mind and a sick man.

There is a direct relationship (proven by many, many studies and known well to FBI and others when working on homicides) between animal abuse and human abuse. It starts with animals and escalates to humans. Again, a warning to us all that these people are dangerous to animals AND people.
