OK well I'm 13, no period, 5ft., 120lb. Well I try to do stuff like running to try to loose like 10lb. but whatever I do I can't seem to find a way to lose a pound or so. Like for example I found some 10 min. pilates videos on you tube and I've been doing it for a week or so and my sister has done it like 3 times. And she told me that her pants feel loser but mine don't!! My sister and my brother say that my body doesn't want to lose the weight and that I'm growing. So is that true? And I only feel self consious because of all of the girls at my school are like sticks!!
So can you please help me and tell me what to do? Please!

keep doing what you'r doing..just more of it......in different ways...you could run or walk every day with one of your friends or a girlfriend. Go do something fun at least once a week like roller/ ice skating, dancing, play a sport, jump on a trampoline for a while, go swimming, jumprope, bike riding, GO TO THE MALL (walking) [they all burn calories!!]
and eat/drink LESS [not none] junk food and sodas/juices.

drinks- water, milk

food- veggies, protien[no red meat], carbs[whole grain] [boost energy] fruits[not canned], dairy [low fat]
ONLY 2 sweets a day!!! :D**

At 13 and at the weight you are you DO NOT need to lose weight. Stay active and eat a well balanced diet, NO junk food or high fat foods. The girls who are stick thin are NOT necessarily healthy and everyone has a different body shape.
Please love yourself for who you are and never worry about what other people think.

yes i can! 10 minutes of pilates isnt going to cut it! you need to do about 20-25 minutes of cardio, aerobics-where you get your heart beating ALOT each day! dont over work yourself and try your best. Eat healthy. Continue to do the pilates so you dont bulge from the muscle build up. if you find that your getting stronger, but larger, its because your muscle below the fat is getting larger, but the fat needs more cardio workouts. only do pilates 3 times aweek, and give your body a break on weekends so you dont work yourself too much and cause yourself to get the flu. Dont worry about how much you weigh, but the visual results! i weigh 132 and im skinny and somewhat muscular, i lost alot of my figure by doing similar stuff like this, but i still weigh alot, plus im only 14
Eat lots of veggies, dring 2-3 water bottles aday, cut back on juice, even the heathy crap and go with the real fruit instead-like grape juice is grapes with tons of sugars and concentrates, so go with the real thing! DONT drink pop. Limit yourself on everything you eat, and dont eat junk. you can treat yourself to pies,and deserts but limit your intake. Pilates won't help you lose weight - not in a million years let alone a week. Your sister is lying. You certainly sound like you know nothing about heath and fitness and have no committment what so ever to any goal you may have. That's why your not losing weight.

diet and excercise.

it's as simple as that and that's all you can do.

eat a healthy cereal or oatmeal for breakfast and have fruits and whole grains and cut out sugar and white breads.


In order to loose weight you need to do cardio and running is perfect. i suggest you do cardio for 30-60 min. 5 times a week. try cycling jump roping, swimming, trampolinme jumping etc.

not only will you look great but you'll feel great about yourself :)

Join a sport. I feel bad seeing young kids thinking they need to lose weight. Its enough for us adults.

Probably your diet is the problem, healthier food is essential for losing weight.

its probably just baby fat, i had it when i was your age
it will go away in a few months
for now just be comfortable in your own skin, none of those girls are gonna remember how skinny you were in a few years.
