I sent pics. as well informing everyone promised, the pups arrived. Mom, (Cinny) first time Mom, did amazing, one of the easest births I have assisted I have assisted in several animal births, work with animals all the time, nothing new to me. I did make it well known to start with, to the promised owners I did not want them coming by for at least 2 weeks, with only me here, it is quiet and it needs to stay that way, Mom does not need to be excited. Again, I clearly stated this morning, repeating do not come by. I even called when these few people ignored this. Did they listen, NO. I am sure you can guess what was said, 1. You didn't mean me? 2. I burned gas getting here 3. to almost forced entry by means of trying to open the door with me blocking it. It caused Cin to become upset, of course. I was accused of caring more for a dog, (Right on the nail) at this point, to cursing me, I reminded them this was a curtiousy to them, that I own this home, amoung other things, was I wrong?!

And this request to not come by, started after she became pregnant. No, this breeding was not for money, these are for Family pets only.
I mean this could have lead to her biting someone or trampling the pups, I know the risks involved here, even I am now having a lot of trouble even dealing with people, much less this sort of drama? I just want to know if I am wrong for blowing up at their ignorance or deafness, what have you?
Thanks

You know Ozzy I thought about that too, but Gee, ever think these people may be close friends and do show up from time to time? Also anyone with real experts in this sort of thing, do think of all the risks involved. I.E. First time Mom? Docile as she is, or any animal for that matter has those instincts in them, and you are fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

Right and thse shots will be given as I know this, however do to unforeseen things, already pushing it for her only one person is allowed in home..My home. Well aware of what Mom and babies need, it;s the pinciple of the matter. Truthfully the more I think of blowing the more woried I become of leaving her in others care due to the fact not listening o sticking 2 the agreements I set when they wanted pups from her.
Just goes to show me that the ssaying is true when it is someone you care deeply for, it is really hard to step back and work on the problem even like this .
She and her Brother(Not the father of theses Pipsqueaks trust me) are very much my babies, having been dumped off at 3 weeks of age yes a side of the road job, so yeah all training is out the window on this, I am worse than a mother bear defending her cubs.

No you were not wrong. They were. If they get upset because you are putting the mother and pups first then they need to think again. They are the ones who are getting these pups. Dont they want whats best for them? People just act stupid when they get excited that's all. After the oooh and ahhhh's wear off they will understand. I hope. Good Luck

Of course you could remind them that if this first time mother abandons them, they can stay up all night feeding them.

YOu were right however I dont' let anyone come see pups until 6 weeks and they have gotten at least 1 sst of shots.
Yo never know what thye may bring to the house.
If you did indeed tell them from the beginning, if they wer to ignorant then who's fault that they spent the money on the gas.
I would offer to send updated pictures once a week so they can 'Watch" the pups grow.
Please don't let them in until the pups are at teh very youngest 4 weeks but as I said my pups aren't allowed to be seen until 6 weeks when they have had there 1st shot.
just another little note I suggest ( suggested by my vet) the pups and mom should be wormed ( using meds from vet not over the counter) at 2,4,6,8 and10 weeks.

Well you just messed up.You should have told people in no uncertain terms this dog has not proven herself as a mom and you fear she'll kill the pups if she feels they're threatened by too many well meaning fools too quick. Now you've gone and ticked people off who you promised pups to so you're going to hear all sorts of nasty things others are probably already saying about you behind your back.No matter that you were right and they were wrong.
In the future wait till pups are a couple of weeks old before you tell anyone.

You run the risk of the pups getting sick from transmittable disease if any of your friends were close to a dog that was sick, it could wipe out your whole litter. I personally would not let anyone see my pups until they had had their first set of shots. You have to be firm and not let them run you over.

Maybe you should reconsider the people that are getting your pups.
