Actually, when it comes down to it, we all do believe in one being....we just have differing opinions as to what that being should be called. The reason we have so many different religions is because the devil wants to keep everyone confused. He's doing a good job....don't you think?

Because some believe that there is only one god, some believe there are no gods or god, and some believe in many gods. Those viewpoints aren't going to come together.

Not even pagan religions can agree because some believe that the gods and goddesses are "aspects" of a divine force, usually male and female while others believe that the gods and goddesses are separate entities.

The answer is simple. We have so many religions because there are so many people with different ideas about religion, different interpretations of the written word, what religion entails, what the beliefs should be, and what their specific needs may be. Many religions believe in one God but call him by different names.

there are so many religions becasue there are that many different beliefs. If we all believed in one person, than we would have to agree. That is not going to happen any time soon.

there are bound to be many religions in the world because people are always ready to ‘worship’ in ways which they have designed for themselves, regardless of whether these methods of worship lead them to really feel or know God. Down the centuries people have invented numerous gods and religions. But what is the point of bowing down to lifeless statues, like the great stone beetles which were often used in the ancient east? What is the point? Why do people do it? For if we make gods ourselves, we know that they have no life, and any divine aura around them is merely projected from superstitious imaginations.
