Same reason we sing London Bridge is Falling Down, and Ring Around the Rosy (about the plague), we are insane.

It just goes to prove that lullabies just need to be sung in a soft voice, but it doesn't really matter what the song is about.

they'll make whatever up to get a baby to sleep even if it doesn't make sense plus the baby doesn't understand what your singing
