He usually runs the yard in the daytime and he goes to a pond outback. Lately I have been bringing him in the house d/t the cold weather. I bought him a new pet bed and he gets rambunctious at nite while the family are sleeping and tears up everything.. newspapers, vacume hose, shoes, gets into the garbage. ripped up his new pet bed. Should I crate him at nite or what?

I walk with my dog quite a bit and he has the run of 4500 acres of prime Illinois farmland, 2 ponds, a river and a 15 acre lake. No city dog here. He is waiting for you to pull in our driveway so he can bark his aZZ off and pee on all 4 of your car tires. Get serious here folks.

It sounds to me like the dog wants to be outside. If he is used to being outside and all of a sudden you are bringing him in this could be what is causing his misbehaviour. Has he ever been accustomed to being inside? If not then I would suggest finding a place outside maybe in a doghouse that has had plenty of hay placed inside for warmth, or possibly some type of an out-building that does not have anything in it that the dog will be tempted to tear up. Either way there needs to be some hay and maybe a couple of old blankets to help keep him warm.

Yes crate him at night. If possible crate him in a room were your family is to help him realize your family didn't leave him. It will be tough for a couple nights but it will be worth it. My German Shephard whined, yelped, barked and just about screamed bloody murder the first night I brought him home. But he settled in on the second night and has ever since. Main thing to remember is to not run to him with every noise he makes. It will just make the transition harder.

That is the first thing I do is teach crate = go to bed. It is necessary when you are going to own a dog . Be positive about it & start out for short time periods, working your way up to all night. Be very happy to see them when you allow them out. Good luck!!! Remember you are the pack leader!!

Love the groovy 60's stuff right here...excellent approach to serve up a few tasty tunes from the Psychedelicatessen! The Aimee Mann is a favourite one in all mine this yr... "Freeway" has that particular & mellow, however wealthy and rockin' sound of hers. I'm gonna rock out somewhat right here and upload one from a person who is aware of the right way to make his guitar speak...(transfer over Jimi!) youtube trace: upload those characters to the top of the string to increase among the tunes there... &fmt=18 (edit: Jack Bruce's vocals unmistakable...very cool music, you have got to have learn my dossier!)
