The history of Judaism begins with the Covenant between God and Abraham, which supposedly happened around 2,000 B.C. (4,000 years ago).

The Jewish nation or tribes of the covenant of Abraham are approximately 3500 years old.
Jewish culture is something else altogether. Different cultural influences have created distinct Jewish cultures around the globe.
Edit..I think my first answer was thinking of Moses..the 4000 year age is probably closer.
There are Jewish cultures from North Africa and the Middle east that have existed for thousands of years. The Beta Yisrael ( Ethiopian Jews who are now mostly in Israel) developed a Jewish culture that is very different from the Jews who lived in Iraq and Egypt for example. The Sephardi Jews have different cultural customs than the Jews of Yemen or from Poland. Yet, each is a genuine Jewish culture.
I hope this helped

Judaism is actually a mass of other local customs and cultures appended to religious custom and law. It developed from the Mosaic (and pre-Mosaic) law coupled with the indigenous values and customs of the countries to which Jews were exiled over 2000 years ago. Thus, the Eastern European Jewish culture is distinct from that of Far Eastern or Middle Eastern Jews.

It is the oldest of all the western and middle eastern religions. There have been impostors like Islam and Christianity but the one that started it all is Judaism. This fact creates a lot problems for Muslims because they claim that Adam and Eve were Muslim LOLOLOL.....http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/

It can be pretty accurately traced to about 6000 years ago. If you fallow the birth of Abraham in Genises and all the generations up to Jesus, then add 2000 years (where we are now) and it comes to about 6000.

It is estimated at around 4000-4500 years. I am not sure, however.
