Will he get a ride in Nascar? Before and after he wrecked in the Busch race on Saturday night, his Dad, the commentator explained how well he has done this year. So I looked up his 07 stats: 2 poles, no wins, no top 5's, no top 10's, finished 19th in points.I've watched all the Busch races this year and I didn't see him do anything but wreck! Rusty was a great driver and surely knows more than me about driver talent! I also understand a father being proud of his son. What am I missing here? Is it just the father and son relationship or is he really going somewhere?

Thanks Superdave, I was not aware that he has Turrets. I know several people that have that! And even a mild case that is controllable with medication would be hard to deal with. So I can understand Rusty's pride in him even more!

He has ALOT of improving to do. He is only 19 years old. What most people dont know about him is that he has Turrets Syndrome. He has that under control. He did tear up alot of equipment this year and I still think the jury is out on him. He really needs alot of seat time if he wants to go cup racing.

Edit: I was watching a post race interview with him last year and he was twitching and blinking real fast and I ask my wife if she thought something was wrong with him, she said yes so I looked it up and found that out about him.

The one stat that is missing is his dad has the clout to get him the best equipment in any garage in the series. Think what his year results would have been if his last name was Smith or Jones....he would be in a go-kart series. There isn't any room at the top level with the influx of open-wheel racers, so Steven Wallace and others will be stuck in the Nationwide Series.

He still has a lot of learning to do he is only 19..He is not ready for cup yet..His stats were not great this yr. He just needs to learn some patience and stay out of trouble, but he does seem to crash on his own alot...Rusty better have tons of money for equipment, I'm sure Rusty is proud of his son..But If I were the other drivers, he'd be the one I'd stayed away from, it just seems like on what lap is Steven Wallace going to crash... Yep, he has alot of room for improvement big time...

Once Steven gets some experience and his dad gets off his back, I think that he will do ok. Rusty is probably just proud that Steven didn't cripple himself with all the wrecks.

The wrecks dont always equal stupidity, just a short attention span and inexperience.

His Cup racing is still several years in the future. Nothing against him but a lot more talented drivers should come into Cup racing before him!!!!

He has a bad temper and he keeps on crashing. But I think he just needs more experience driving a race car, then he will do better. I think he just proud of him , he hasn't done that well this year. Maybe if he does well , he will get a win next year, but I wouldn't count on it.

I think he is alot like his father was when he started. He just needs to relax a little and not be quite so aggressive until he has a bit more experience. I also think Steven is going through a similar situation as Junior went through when he started-trying to fill some pretty big shoes; being expected to be as good as Dad. I think he will be good after some experience and once he relaxes, just like Junior.

Very few sons are just as good as their pops in NASCAR. The only one that I can think of off hand is Dale Jarrett. I wish him the best of luck, he's going to need it from what I've seen from him. I don't think he'll ever make it to Cup.

I think he needs to give his ride up to Loren Wallace. He can do a lot better.
