If you are an illegal Mexican can you travel by Plane inside the USA only??

I have a friend and she's an illegal alien (mexican). She's living at San Francisco and wants to travel by Plane to Los Angeles to visit a friend but she's scared to travel by plane coz she might get deported... She will only use her Valid Mexican Passport as indentification during boarding (as they dont have CA I.D.) is this ok? i told her i think its safe to travel by plane as long as its inside the USA or domestic flights only and NOT international flights, am i right? HELP PLS, DO YOU HAVE ANY FRIENDS WHO TRAVEL WITHIN THE USA ONLY EVEN W/O LEGAL PAPERS??? Based on Experience is the best advise you can give me. Thank you

I understand how Americans can get all bent out of shape when it comes to illegal immigrants and alot of them say do it "the legal way".. Only if you all knew it is not that easy my mother in law has never been to the US or has never left Mexico. She tried to apply for a visa only for a week to visit her grandchildren and she was denied. She has never done anything illegal or has never tried to cross the border illegally and she was denied. So it isn't that easy to do it the "legal way". And I hope none of you have to live the way Mexicans live in Mexico, it is a sad place and they sometimes only make $80 to $100 a week busting their *** sometimes more than 40 hrs a week.

Yes, tell her to get on the plane! hopefully she will get caught and sent back. I am not trying to be mean or insensitive, but I have several friends who came to America for a better life and did things the legal way...illegal immigrants are a slap in the face of those who worked hard and put in the time to do things right...the arrogance of illegals is astounding. To answer the question, I believe she will be asked for identification, but you would have to check with the airprt to be sure.

It's a risk, but then again my husband is German with a German passport. We live in Germany, but when we fly within the USA (going back to my home in Long Beach, California) he uses his Passport- we never have any problems. But then again, my husband does have a proper visa to visit....

She can also use her drivers license, if she has one.

My friend is an illegal italian and he hasn't traveled by plane for the past 5 years because they will deport him.
He's coming from Chicago to LA by train, maybe u can try that.
