I went to the truck race in Martinsville and had a blast. The racing was excellent. I have watched all levels on the tv for a few years and it seems to me that the guys that run trucks go for the win and don't seem as concerned about points, like the Busch and Cup guys. Yes, the big names race on Sunday but it seems to me that consistent lap to lap competitive racing happens in the trucks. Unlike the Busch races, when Cup drivers run in the trucks, they don't dominate the truck only drivers. Another thing is ticket prices as they are substantially cheaper.

I'd say between 25 and 50% of NASCAR fans seem to think that NASCAR means ONLY NNC (now Sprint Cup), and WILL NOT, under any circumstance, watch anything other than NNC racing. They couldn't even tell you who won the NBS Championship, nor the NCTS Championship.

Me, I'm a fan of all racing disciplines. I LOVE the trucks. Best racing in NASCAR, bar none. Once they get into a race....and past all of the crashing, they really get after it, do a lot of passing, and just generally put on an AWESOME race!!!

I'd have to debate your remark about the Cup drivers NOT dominating the trucks like they do the Busch Series. Mark Martin ran away with a few of the races he ran last year, did really good in the 2 or 3 this year, and Kyle Busch dang near had a 3-peat the last 3 weeks!! It's just that there aren't as many Cup drivers running NCTS, thank god!!!! I will give you that the NCTS regulars do do a good job of trying to keep them in check though!!!!

Buckshot has got it right in that the Nascar truck drivers are not part of this soap opera thing going on in CUP!
It's D*** good racin!
The only other reason I can think of is that the truck races are ran on Friday night when they run at the same track as Nascar. Some people haft to work and can't get there for Friday nights race! Then on the weeks that they run on a different track there just isn't the draw there would be if the cup cars were there!
Lets just hope Nascar doesn't mess this series up too!!
I plan to see them at Nashville this coming year along with the IRL race!!

After watching this season, I would have to say that the trucks are the best racing in all of NASCAR. I don't know why they are not a bigger draw. One thing I can think of is that the drivers in the truck series are not the pretty boys like in Cup. What I mean is, I worked with this gal that kept a picture of Kasey Kane in her cubical, and I asked her why she likes Kasey - "because he's cute" and I always hear the same about Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr, and other drivers. Drivers like Skinner and Horniday won't be on any soap operas, or on the cover of GQ, but they can sure put on a good show.

I guess there must be alot of people that dont know about it. The racing in the NCTS is great. Ive been to a couple of truck races in Texas and it bad A@@. The trucks are very much like the COT with the front splitter on the front of the truck. Im holding out hope that the cup cars(COT) will be like the trucks with the great racing.

I remember when the series first got started and to draw attention to it there were trucks with the paint schemes off several of the major Cup cars. From there, the series has tried to get an identity, but it will always have a personality crisis with the vast majority of fans. At this point, it unfortunately demonstrates the type of pull the drivers and paint schemes in Cup has on perception....without any real linkage, I believe many feel it must be a "minor league" and doesn't deserve any attention.

Maybe they should give Jr. a ride. That will pack them in and maybe he would win a couple races. Ha!

I like the truck races as well, they are great!
