You want it all. If this question is about yourself, you haven't even got citizenship and you want to go on holiday? Where to is the question. Too many people just after a passport.
Perhaps it's for the reaction?

You will have to marry an irate British Citizen first. Then your Visa will be extended for 2 yrs and during this time you cannot travel abroad only on a Schengen visa. After the 2 yrs you can apply for British Citizenship and when you have that you Divorce the poor sod who took pity on you.Dont forget to apply for half his money and if you have a kid under 16 he has to leave the house not you. When you go to the Social remember its a Sony 32inch a Dyson vacumn cleaner a state of the art washing machine and of course a computer with Internet then you can E mail home and tell them how good the Uk really is.Meanwhila and if you have a heart think of the millions of Taxpayers who for years thought they were to be repaid for their efforts and now live on the poverty level.

It's not easy.
You need to meet a number of points in terms of skills, and even then they can change the criteria retrospectively once you're here, take away your passport and treat you like a criminal- rather than just politely asking you to leave.
And Britain has vast tracts of unused space, only a tiny percentage of our land mass is populated.

It's not that hard, all you have to do is speak a foreign language, be intolerant of the British people, and basically live off benefits. Welcome to the UK.
OK, that was a bit harsh, you seem like you know good english, you might even be English and was just enquiring about it. Alas, I do not really know how to become a citizen since I am one anyway.

first of all you will have to get a visa. you can then apply for indefinite leave to remain. that application will be lodged and forgotten about for a few years! if you genuinely want to come to the UK then I advise you to go to the British Embassy or Consulate where you live for the correct procedure. It is not as easy as everyone thinks and be prepared to be treated as a non-person until you get your indefinite. if you are lucky enough to get indefinite, then after 5 years you can apply for citizenship. if you get a visa and it is a multiple entry one then you will be free to come and go as you please.
