While debt doesn't get "inherited", your estate must make good on any debts owed before your heirs see a dime. Personally, I believe it's immoral to run up credit cards with no intention of paying, and borders on stealing.

If I didn't have anything to leave to my heirs I would. I'd take my family on a dream vacation. But it I had an estate, I might not. I'd have to make sure the credit companies couldn't get their hands onto anything I left behind. I guess that means giving it all away before hand.

NO. Doctors have been proved to be wrong in the past with their diagnosis, so what will you do about your so called credit card debt if you lived?
I have proved the medical specialist wrong twice now in my life time, so beware.

It all depends on who will inherit your debt.
if you have no living family members or loved ones, then the choice is yours. but others will inherit your choices you made, because it will affect everyone else in the long run.

all choices have consequences... others may not inherit your debt, but we will inherit the consequences one way or another.

Of course not. I'd probably pay it off, so my children wouldn't inherit it. That's not how I would want them to remember me.

Darn right I would, but with my luck, I'd get better and live another 40 years paying for it.
