1 Cor 5: 9,11-13) In my letter I wrote YOU to quit mixing in company with fornicators, 11 But now I am writing YOU to quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man. 12 For what do I have to do with judging those outside? Do YOU not judge those inside, 13 while God judges those outside? “Remove the wicked [man] from among yourselves.”

I'm just not seeing it.. not all who are "disfellowshipped" are fornicators or idolators or drunkards or extortioners.

Paula, we are talking here about cutting people off from their families because they choose to worship God outside the JW Organization. This isn't talking about being outed for immorality. There's a large difference, there.

Quite right. Most of those that are disfellowshipped have committed none of those things but have dared to question the societys teachings on some matter or another. I am neither a fornicator, nor a greedy person, nor a drunkard, reviler or extortionist; I have not blasphemed the Holy Spirit, nor denounced Jehovah. I am a 50 year old, happily married, modest living grandmother whose only sin was to question some teachings, such as that of the cross, and then to honestly say I could no longer attend a 'church' that showed such disrespect to Jesus. We all know, do we not, the real reason for the disfellowshiping rule; it is to prevent people like me showing others the hypocrisy behind the organisation, because, if we were free to spread such truths amongst the congregations there would be widespread dissent.

A baptised JW who is addicted to nicotine will be disfellowshipped, such is the extent of their judgmental attitudes. On the other hand, I have heard that Elders who have been accused of child molestation appear to be 'protected'. Allegedly, there have been instances where the Elders have disfellowshipped the VICTIMS of sexual abuse and allowed the perpetrators to continue in their roles of responsibility.

In their literature, they denounce Catholics and Protestants for allowing those very things to go unpunished, yet seem either unwilling or unable to 'clean up their own act'.

It is true that unrepentant sinners cannot be allowed to remain within the church. That is a Biblical principle. However, to disfellowship a baptised JW who no longer agrees with their teachings is simply a mechanism to prevent others in the congregation from being 'polluted' or influenced by another point of view.

Unlike JW's, other churches realise that Christians exist in a whole range of denominations - Christianity is not exclusive to one particular religious organisation. JW's, however, believe that they, and only they have the truth. That only they are being used by God and that God is using them as his prophet. That every other religion is false and therefore doomed to destruction at Armageddon. So they cannot countenance disent or disagreement - the 'apostate' must be thrown out and shunned, even by their own family. They must be very insecure indeed if they cannot overcome differences of doctrine by simply opening up the Bible.

Every religion I personally know of nearly will excommunicate a person if they leave to join another faith. Not unusual, overall. The JW 's are very strange in their ideas all around. They throw people out right/left for nearly no reason @ all, let alone a scriptural one. I've been in my church 7 yrs and they've never "outed" anyone. That's not biblical either. There were several people, including the pastor and his wife who should have been disfellowshipped and shown the door. They finally moved away to another state.

The development (church) does no longer define your allegiance to GOD. Church or what i like to call it "the amassing" is for the point of fresh your soul after doing conflict with devil and his toddlers (the international) the full previous week. If she isn't getting "refresh" at that "amassing" she might might desire to bypass to different churches till she exhibits one that refreshes her soul. What do I propose through fresh and amassing? straightforward, GOD reported whilst 2 or 3 are amassed in His call he's recent in that little amassing. somebody or could I say some human beings in that crowd of individuals will convey down the respect of GOD upon anyone in that church. This out pouring of the Spirit of GOD "Refreshes" your spirit so as which you will sense large once you depart and you may now address yet another week in a demon pushed international. yet through no means there is not any longer a call interior the Holy e book so you might kick her to the size down yet there's a call so you might proceed in attempting to repair her...it somewhat is that if she is starting to be misplaced lower back and walking faraway from the religion. remember...Love (agape) continually wins! :))

Its not there. Of course JW's are not Christians so why should they follow the Bible.
