I scheduled an appointment for my boyfriend, son, and I to take professional pictures, but I am don't know whether to wear black or white. The photographer told me that its recommended to match shirts. So what do you guys think would look better all white shirts or all black shirts?? Or what about a different color? Let me know what you think! Please!

My recommendation is to go with a color which compliments your skin tone. Stay away from busy prints. I normally tell people not to wear black or white. Unless that is the look they are going after. I see many pictures now where people all have white tops on. To me this is a boring way to take a portrait and most likely something you will see in many homes. I like to be unique. But do choose colors among all of you which do not clash and work well together.

Usually your choice of clothing depends upon the background; do you wish to contrast or blend with the background? If you are wishing to look thinner, blend. In general, solid middle toned, bright colors would be a good choice. I suggest asking what the photographer intends to use in the back, or bring a change of clothing for everyone.

Edited to add: white is slimming if the background is white.
