The best were when I'd go to Glendale or Los Angeles in the early 1980s and see Dr. Gene Scott. He was the best, never a dull moment and the best teaching from a man I have ever had.The worst would be as a child ,sitting through Latin Mass with my Aunt Barbara ,my ears and eyes would almost bleed from boredom!! The second worst was attending a Quaker Church with my friend Johnny O. because his mom wanted us to during the summer. It was OK in all things except the sermon.

The best was the UU services, the Catholic services I attended with my dad or brother and the Vesakh celebrations I have attended at a Temple here.
There are only 2 services I did not like. One was a Pentecostal service I attended when I was very young and everyone started screaming. It was truly frightening for me. The other was a few years ago when , in the middle of a Baptist service, they brought monitors down from the ceilings and showed how they had "healed" homosexuals.
I got up and walked out of the church, even though the "ushers" at the door tried to block my path.

On Christmas Eve of 2001, just a couple of months after the 9/11 attacks, the pastor at my mother's church repeatedly said that the United States had been "attacked by pagans".
I could only conclude that he is a complete asshole, and a shoddy excuse for an American at that.
Perhaps the best service I ever attended was a beautiful Latin mass at Notre Dame in Paris, but running a close second was the time an infant was being baptized, and his slightly older brother loudly said "Baby in the washing machine" and "Jesus tickled the baby".

The best was a Christmas program called the Living Christmas Tree performed by a local church. The worst I've been to was a quickie 30 min. Catholic Mass on Saturday morning.

The worst church service was in a big church in Franklin TN. Beautiful building, good music show, interesting sermon... When it came time to take the collection, they passed the plates around and I threw in a buck. But when the plates got back up to the preacher, he said, "Oh come on people, we need a bigger outpouring of looove!" And they passed the plates again! Just another reason I'm fed up with this religion.

The best one would probably be the one where they were talking about "tagging" people and about how the church has spread. That made me want to go and spread God's word.
The worst one would be when I was like three, and it was during sunday school. They showed us this really scary movie where there were fires and death and this evil guy who trapped these two kids in a burning bakery.

Best services: Riverbend Church, Austin, Texas when Dr. Gerald Mann was pastor. He has since retired.
Worse: All those in which I hadn't a clue what the pastor or preacher was talking about because the service in no way related to my life.

Best one was a sermon about swearing...that included genuine swear words. That was awesome.
Worst one was when everyone in the room (except me) started babbling in tongues, and really getting into it. It was more like they were possessed. I guess nobody bothered to explain to them that the only way to be taken seriously "speaking in tongues" is if you break out with an *actual* language that you've never spoken before. If I just started talking in Japanese one day, I might be a believer.

Best -- awards were given for correct answers to questions based on the sermon given by our Jamaican priest, such as chocolate-shaped Jesus's. He also made all the old people get up and sing and dance.
Worst -- Irish priest was talking about demon and Satan, and a guy passed out, then died during the sermon.
I'm Pagan now. :D But I used to be Catholic.

The worst was a service in which people were "healed" and screaming and hollering like a bunch of wack jobs...then they decided to bust out the tongues...quite theatrical, but nothing Biblical...it was a joke!
