They are often very insightful about my personality and current problems. Have described lovers perfectly. But not once have they ever predicted something that has come about. Which has led me to believe the future cannot be seen. Do you agree?

The future can be predicted but not seen. Accurate predictions come about by weeding out the nearly impossible, then the highly unlikely, then the relatively unlikely until one is left with what is a probable future.

A good psychic/seer/fortune teller is usually good at reading people and gleaning a great deal of information from the information given them. Some seem to have fairly clear visions based on this information. While they may not actually be seeing the future, they are seeing a likely possible future. Some are quite good at it, too.

Ultimately, I agree. The future, as an immutable path, cannot be seen. There are always myriad possible futures.

People can be incredibly perceptive and good at reading others (see Darren Brown for example), but nobody has anything better than a good guess about the future, or even about the personality and situation of a stranger. Any other skilled, perceptive person cold reading can predict the future, and things about you, just as accurately as any psychic.

Not really.
I believe that at any one point in time there are many different "pathways" we can travel depending on the decisions we make. If you continue the metaphor of life as a pathway then each decision is like a fork in the road.
I believe that divination (future seeing) is possible, but that you can only see down one possible pathway at a time. The psychic may have seen one possible future, but your personal decisions have led you away from it and onto an alternate path.

That is because the best that a person reading for you is to tell you the most likely path your life is going to take based on where you are RIGHT NOW. If you change your actions based on a reading, you WILL change the outcome.

When I do a reading, I will TELL people that up-front. Many people get up right then as they want "answers" from a "real" psychic instead of understanding that someone who will "TELL" them what "WILL" happen is usually FAR less accurate than they claim to be.....

I believe that the future can never be predicted because you cannot predict your actions in the future and neither can the psychic. Just changing one action, no matter how small, can radically change your future. Who is the psychic to think they willl know exactly every action you will take for the rest of your life? They don't know you.

I have always believed that divination is about gaining insights into issues and gaining knowledge about the influences involved. If someone told me they knew a specific event was going to happen in my life, I would consider them a fraud. I believe it might be possible to see glimpses of possible futures, but I believe the future remains mutable until it actually happens. There are many diviners who work under the same assumptions that I'm describing (but they probably don't make as much money as those who promise to reveal you future)

The future can be seen, but to literally see it you may need to up your level of psychic, possibly to a "seer". One might ask why you want to see your future and what it is that you want to see.

People who do literally see the future generally have a reason for doing so, they are accessing "higher conscious" levels of information. There are thought to be few persons who choose to access such high (or unified) levels of conscious, and they
therefore unlikely to need or choose to misuse such information e.g. lotteries, bets, stocks and shares, etc.. Afterall this is generally legally classified as insider information. Such persons are invariably involved in other spiritual work such as healing and channeling energy. Their pre-cognitive abilities are usually connected to such work, rather than trying to prove to individuals that such phenomenon exist.

Such people, i.e. psychics and seers, tend to realise that the future is mutable and subject to change. One can percieve such phenomenon, however the beings involved in the percieved future are able to change the future right up until the moment of conception and actualisation. Some people believe that persons who can see their own future are doing so in order to change it.

You have already suggested that the psychics that you have visited have told you interesting things about you and your life that it would be hard to know. Maybee your future isn't black and white and is far more mutable than you may want it to be.
Maybee you want someone else to prove something to you that you need to prove for yourself i.e. that you have a furture and that spirituality is an experiential phenomenon i.e. a lived experience from an individual perspective.

So I personaly disagree with your statement and say that the future can be seen but for certain reasons and with certain meaning. The future is also changable up until conception.

Of course it can't be seen.

So-called "Psychics" are very good at one thing: Reading your REACTION to what they say.

They can't explain anything without seeing your face. Next time you go to a psychic, wear a bag over your head. They'll tell you it blocks their ability due to your unbelieving, but what they're looking for is this:

Which way you look when you answer a question.
Your hands.
Your mouth.
Your nose.
Your eyes.

Cover-up most of what they can see and they'll be dead-wrong nearly every time.

Frankly, most psychics could be veeeeery good cops. The good ones can spot a lie at 200 feet.

They usually are accurate because they can read people by their body language... a true psychic will never sit down in front of a crystal ball, dressed like a gypsy and say I'm going to tell you your future......... pay 20$!!!
