for my religion class I have to write a two page paper on a religious idea from any religion. It can only be ONE idea and it cant mesh into other ideas....anywhoo, I can't think of one. can any of you????

okay. Here's a good one from the bible. Remember Jesus said "render unto Caesar the things that belong to Caesar, and to God the things that belong to God"? Everyone ALWAYS thinks Jesus is telling people to pay their taxes. No. The real meaning is that if you are involved in a long dedicated effort to penetrate a higher state of consciousness (i.e. metaphorically, find "God") you are STILL, nevertheless, IN YOUR OWN BODY!!! And that body needs not only food, shelter and clothing...but sometimes some lightweight entertainment! IT DOES. YOU DO! Go see a movie sometimes. Play catch with your dog! Eat half a bag of Oreo cookies just because you want to! That is RENDERING UNTO CAESAR, the things that belong to Caesar (your BODY). It doesn't violate your aim to awaken.

That's a pretty open field. How about baptism. Use the story in the Bible where Jesus is baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. You can make that simple,straight forward, etc. It would be an easy 2 pager, I think.

How about the harm religion has done? You know, like mothers beating their kids to get the devil out of them, and all the money and time people spend building and maintaining churches when they could be doing better things, etc. etc. The list goes on.

Christian Bible has the Golden Rule. " Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." Matthew 7:12
Treat others like you would like to be treated. If you want people to be kind to you, then you be kind to them.
This idea is exemplified in every aspect of life.
