One of my friends suddenly started talking that way, and then became increasingly erratic and violent. He was diagnosed with schizophenia, which was eventually brought under control with drugs.

John was the last prophet, Jesus reveal all things, there is no need for prophets or messengers. The words they have you also have, but is your heart pure enough for you to understand the words. If you can understand the words, they are not your words, they are the words of God the Father, as spoken by His Son, given to Him by the Holy Spirit.

Therefore all Glory and praise does not belong to those who can understand, but it belongs to the giver of the Words, God the Father.

People that say that are either for real or crazy; there is no middle ground.

I don't automatically believe anyone who says that, mostly because I haven't actually seen them do anything that is a miracle.

But if I didn't at least look at their actions and then decide what they are, that would make me the biggest hypocrite in the world because isn't that what the original crusifyers of Jesus did?

If I feel God's presence when they speak and they speak within the boundaries of the bible which I have studied at length, yes. And if I had been praying to hear from a prophet I would be VERY interested in what they had to say.

Well, in the Bible it does say we do have prophets in the church. It also says that we are to test the spirits to see if they are of God, Meaning, if what this person said came true as prophesied. Then, yes, I would believe they were a true prophet of God.

No because many people have made those claims and turned out to be fanatics.
Proof you say? Sure thing, ever heard of David Kuresh? Jim Jones? The leader of Heavens Gate?

I can see by your wording that it would be a big no.

I too would have a hard time with it, but I would hear them out and then make a judgment call based on what I know about God's written word.

Im the daughter of 2 preachers so i believe that God can give you a message through someone else. Sometimes that is how God works he sends it though other people.
