my bf has extremely dry skin, and in the winter it gets really rough and cracks and he says it hurts sometimes. IS this eczema? What could I get him to help it?

IF his skin cracks in winter and gets rougher, it probably is not eczema. Look closely at his fingernails. If there are faint lines running from the cuticle to the tip, he has psoriasis. Go see a doctor about for a proper diagnosis. The medical field has made huge leaps in the past few years regarding treatment options. Psoriasis is not curable as it is an autoimmune disease, but many things are available to treat the systems.

He should get checked by a doctor. Aside from the skin disease s mentioned, cracking and dry skin can be a sign of uncontrolled diabetes.

He probably has psoriasis. In the winter it will flake more because of the dry air. If you go to your pharmacy and look down the skin care ailse they do have creams just for this.
