I'm not a Muslim, but I would assume that it is for the same reason we don't celebrate the birth of Elijah and other prophets. Christmas is a celebration of the birth of God's Son. If you don't believe that is Who He is, then it probably isn't so important a day for you.

Because the focus of Christianity surrounds the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus; this does not apply to Islam. Though Protestants, and even Catholics, put emphasis on the birth of Jesus christ, the Orthodox church puts more emphasis on Easter, as they view the resurrection more important. This can help reflect Islam, where although they may not necessarily put strong association with the birth of Jesus, they can still appreciate his birth from that standpoint. In that respect, we could darn near celebrate the birth or any prophet, but none to Christians are more important than Jesus himself, as this figure is the center point of Christianity.

For the same reason Christians don't celebrate the births of Moses, Elijah, or any other prophets. That's simply how Muslims consider him.

The only reason Cristians celebrate Christmas is because when they were persecuting the pagans during the crusades it made it easier for them to convert. They changed all kinds of things. Winter solistace to Christmas. Pagan God of the animals to the devil. Ect.

Christmas is supposed to celebrate Jesus as the Messiah. They don't believe He is the Messiah, so they don't celebrate Christmas.
