Sociopaths look for ways to become more excited and stimulated. Reading and studying the Bible are a fairly easy way to do that. Failing that, the sociopath might go on to other pursuits, but would still know the Bible.

Because when you're facing life imprisonment/death row and the possibility of eternal damnation, you kind of start considering to look for a loophole.

even the devil knows the bible is the word of god, how better to get it dismissed than to profane the holy book by having deluded people quoting it.
if you listen to the islamic faithful who blow themselves up, they are saying glory to god, but they too serve the fallen
