trees or other plants in snow, abstract (i took one of my bus's window frame [on the inside] in black and white , and it looked really cool!), other outdoor pictures, sunsets, clouds after a storm (especially at sunset), foggy canyons (want to, but haven't been able as of yet), etc. I also love informal people pictures.

Scenes of nature...more specifically, of myself out on the grass when the sun is high, around the trees. I do this a lot during the summer to help me remember what sunshine and warmth feel like when the snow and gloom of winter set in. I especially like the look of the stark shadows on the ground cast by the sun. There's the flipside of the "photo opportunities" of this season you mentioned, as the opportunity for summer photos has now passed. I must say, though, that it takes both the right kind of camera and skills to take pictures of lights in the dark. They show up either blurry or as complete darkness with dots of colored light in them. Try to take night pictures close-up with a steady hand, or a tripod or anything you can put the camera on and set the timer. Also, film is no substitute for digital.

Every where you look there is a photograph waiting to be taken. You simply need to learn to see it.
"Looking and seeing are not the same; seeing involves perception, and this brings into play our entire system of human values. Because people's values differ, no two individuals see exactly the same way." From "Object & Image: An Introduction To Photography, Third Edition" by George M. Craven, Chapter 1, Summary, p9.

I like to take pictures of landscapes such as glistening lakes and sparkling skies. Andthen I go into photoshop andstart playing around and editing them to my hearts content.
And yes I am excited.

If you habdle the camera well, anything you take looks beautiful and romantic! I personally prefer taking pictures of streets, in the night, with the lights and all this stuff! Landscapes are fine too, but you have to find the right lighting...

my kids acting silly, I got a beautiful shot of the sunset in my neighborhood and one of the older guys in our church trying to shoot hoops on my beach crusier. It was a classic.
