I am Wicca and do not worship Satan or Demons! I worship the Deity (whom I believe is female!) and work energy for healing, financial assistance, protection and the like. The early church told everyone that the pagan religions were evil and worshiped the Devil/demons because they wanted everyone under one god and one religion so pagans were (and still are in many eyes) a threat! We aren't a threat to anyone!

They are absolutely different.

Wicca is a very peaceful and accepting tradition who's first and most important rule is "Do what you will but harm none" With this being the most basic belief, there is no question that it is NOT demonic.

On a side note - wiccan religions do not even acknowledge the demonic. The idea of a "demon" is born of christian religions. As christianity took hold in the world, it cast wiccan or pagan religions as "demonic" or "evil" to better villianize them and therefore make people less willing to follow them. Its a common theme in theology as different religions move through the world.

For more accurate information on wicca you can refer to online resources such as www.witchvox.com and www.silverravenwolf.com. There are many other sites, but these are some of my favorites. Silver Ravenwolf concentrates on wicca while witchvox covers a wider variety of paganistic religions including the various wiccan, pagan and druidic religions.

They are completely different. Wicca is an actual religion practiced by many for centuries. What is a demonic cult? There is no such thing, unless you mean Devil Worshippers, but they are not Wiccan. You are right, your friend is wrong, and seems to have been fed this information by another religion that is against Wiccans.

There are some terribly misinformed individuals who keep saying this. Many Wiccans do not even believe demons exist, so they certainly aren't worshipping them.

Wicca is a religion. Like most other religions, it has its own gods. Wicca is no more demonic than Hinduism or Native American spirituality.

No they are not the same at all. Wiccan is the study of magic. My mom is wiccan and I can tell you that she is not in any nor has she ever been in a cult. She does not go to a church or anything like that... she just does her own practices. She believes that there are many different gods and goddesses rather than just one.
There is of course dark magic that maybe your friend is confusing with a "demonic cult" but most wiccans don't practice that. My mom for example, only does white magic. She mainly reads runes.

Hope that helped.

All evil is inside of us. There is no life form which killed as many same persons as humans.

Wicca, is an Earth based path, an even though we have a "dark" time, winter, as representation of the "Death" of the Earth, we have no demons. Your friend needs to quit watching "Charmed".

Wicca is an earth based religion that is a complication of all religions. So you can ask God for his assistance today, Athena's for assistance the next day and Chango's the very next day and fall inline with your religion. We do not discriminate against any religion... they are all equal. There is noting demonic about it.

No. Wicca is an earth based religion, and demonic cults are usually based on anti-Christianity i.e. Satanism.

Wicca and Satanic religions are completely different. Wiccans do not believe in an all-evil figure (such as Satan), so it is highly improbable for Wiccans and Satanists to be the same.

I say "highly improbable" because I know there are a few out there who will claim to be satan-worshiping wiccans = /
