We as Catholics believe Mary was filled with God's Grace since birth, and the she lived her entire life in that Grace even before her committment to bear Jesus. What is your opinion on this? Why do you think he called her "full of Grace" prior to her "Be it done with me according to Your Will?"

Mary supposedly was chosen by God, and blessed with lots of grace, so she would not be touched by sin.

I believe it, if I believe in Jesus and God then why on earth would (or in heaven for that matter) this not be possible. This is not one of those bible stories (Noahs Ark) that make me shake my head and ask if as a Catholic I am really supposed to believe this happened. I do believe this happened and that Mary was (is) full of grace.

In Luke 1:28, the angel greets Mary, "Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you." The phrase "full of grace" is a translation of the Greek word kecharitomene.

The traditional translation, "full of grace," is better than the one found in many versions of the New Testament, which state "highly favored daughter." Mary was indeed a highly favored daughter of God, but the Greek implies more than that and never mentions "daughter." Kecharitomene is a perfect passive participle of charitoo, meaning "to fill or endow with grace." Since this term is in the perfect tense, it indicates that Mary was graced in the past but with continuing effects in the present. So, the grace Mary enjoyed was not a result of the angel’s visit. In fact, it extended over the whole of her life, from conception onward. She was in a state of sanctifying grace from the first moment of her existence.

N.L.T. Luke 1:28 Gabriel appeared to her and said, "Greetings, favoured woman! The Lord is with you!"

K.J.V. Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, "Hail thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women".

N.I.V. Luke 1:28 The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you".

Mary was undoubtedly a godly woman (Luke 1:28). Mary was surely a wonderful wife and mother. Jesus definitely loved and cherished His mother (John 19:27). The Bible gives us no reason to believe that Mary was sinless. In fact, the Bible gives us every reason to believe that Jesus Christ is the only Person who was not “infected” by sin and never committed a sin (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 John 3:5).

Correction: we catholics believe Mary was full of grace from the moment of CONCEPTION. unless im mistaken and you are not roman catholic, pls clarify your "catholicism"

it is sad that many deny the powerful intercession of Our Mother. Mary did not just give birth to Our Saviour. She raised Him, brought Him up in the Faith, fussed over Him, kept Him safe till He was grown, followed Him, believed in Him and watched her Son die an agonising death all the while ACCEPTING of His Will.

her Son (God) wills that we use her as an intercessor for our sake that we may give her the honour she deserves as His mother. Mary does not will it for herself - she is today as she was then when Gabriel announced the Good News to her - willingly accepts whatever God asks of her.

at the wedding in cana after asking Jesus to help as there was no more wine Jesus replied that it was not yet His time still He obeyed His mother by changing water in wine (not that she was asking for a miracle) this implies to me that Jesus will willingly change His plans in obedience to His mother. It is a mistake to think of mary as simply the "chosen one" to carry Our Lord for the first nine months of his physical existence. Mary summed it up perfectly when perfectly when she said "Do whatever it is He tells you" (john2:1-11).

i am roman catholic

EDIT: Only the Church that Jesus founded is trustworthy in explaining Mary's place in God's plan of salvation. unfortunately i dont now how to copy and paste links over to the Catholic Catechism. hoping someone will do so. Great question

Obviously the Angel Gabriel was following the Catholic cult teaching of Mary worship....oh wait a minute, the angel gabriel visited Mary before the Catholic cult existed...oh no, my fundie head is going to explode!!!

Sorry Gary D, one clue that let's everyone know that's a bogus translation is that the word Jehova is not found in the bible anywhere. Any Jewish scholar will tell you that the word Jehovah is the error of reading the hebrew world yaweh backwards.

"Kekaritomene" is "full of grace" or 'Much favored"or "very gifted" perfect praticiple in Greek
since Mary was prepared by grace to say yes since grace is needed to cooperate with grace and must be before(previenient grace)

Here is a better translation of the original Greek.
(Luke 1:26-33) 26 In her sixth month the angel Ga′bri·el was sent forth from God to a city of Gal′i·lee named Naz′a·reth, 27 to a virgin promised in marriage to a man named Joseph of David’s house; and the name of the virgin was Mary. 28 And when he went in before her he said: “Good day, highly favored
one, Jehovah is with you.” 29 But she was deeply disturbed at the saying and began to reason out what sort of greeting this might be. 30 So the angel said to her: “Have no fear, Mary, for you have found favor with God; 31 and, look! you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you are to call his name Jesus. 32 This one will be great and will be called Son of the Most High; and Jehovah God will give him the throne of David his father, 33 and he will rule as king over the house of Jacob forever, and there will be no end of his kingdom.”

kha′ris is rendered “grace” by most English Bible translators. The word “grace,” however, with some 14 different meanings does not convey to most readers the ideas contained in the Greek word.

The Grace was from God as is all Grace. She was filled with Grace. Her name is remembered by all generations. But she was just a chosen human being, There is no holy "family" as only God and the two other persons of the Trinity are inherently holy.
