Super special cleaning products- like caldrea green tea patchouli dish detergent and the downey lavender softner- you hesitate to buy for yourself because they are twice or more as much as the regular stuff... and some fancy padded hangers!

Hmmm......if I didn't make jam or jelly, it would be nice to find half pints of those.
Also, candies that aren't over abundant at holidays...no divinity, pralines, fudge or brittles. Maybe cream mints or molasses taffy?
Depending on the person you're making it for, they may appreciate a whole bean coffee in a little cloth bag (line it with a zip top plastic bag and tie the top with ribbon). A variety of teas they may not purchase themselves....
Dried fruits and recipes to use them...
A jarred/bagged muffin mix...or any other dry food mix...
If for newlyweds, maybe an Italian dinner theme...bottle of red wine, seasonings for spaghetti sauce, small chunk of parmesan cheese, dried pasta, silk flowers in a dollar store glass vase, mill end outlet gingham tablecloth/napkins (might run 4 dollars, with thread), a couple of wine glasses and a candle.
Maybe a book on a subject they enjoy and a mug with some hot cocoa mix and a batch of cookies?

It depends on the recipient.
If you are giving it to a college student or someone just getting started on his/her own, I would fill it with things like laundry detergent, fabric softener sheets, some nice hangers, maybe an iron and mini ironing board, etc. This also works well for a graduation gift.
If for someone who is more established, I might put a nice set of towels or a couple of decorating pillows (especially if you know what their bedroom looks like). Another option would be a set of sheets and/or some nice candles.
Hope this helps!

What a great idea!!! Inside I would love to find things I could use around the home, for example, new toothbrushes, kitchen towels, socks (are always nice when you need them), maybe some kitchen storage containers. Again, what a very unique and awesome gift.

A bottle of good balsamic vinegar, a bottle of good olive oil, a round of sourdough bread, and a good quality beach towel with a penguin on it. Maybe some nice napkins.

Cheeses, crackers, pickles, biscuits, things that would be handy for family gatherings or one that is purely indulgent for one person like chocolate, lollies, expensive teas etc, have fun.

NOTHING... the gift alone would be plenty.
