Mosat baby back ribs sold in grocery stores today are what are called 3lb downs....which are smaller bone, less fat. You usually get 12-13 bones per full rack. SO depending upon what esle you are serving as far as side dishes would suggest you shoot for 3/4 rack per person... (so between 5-6 racks) Cut into 3 bone portions to make it easier for them to handle, but between each bone cut half way down to make it easier for them to pull apart each rib. Some people with have a full rack, some only a 1/4 of one. Provide bread as well (preferably Texas Toast) as it is a great compliment to eating ribs, and is also a filler as well. Happy cooking

I think four racks would be just right. 1/2 rack is usually a "regular" order and a full rack a 'large" order at a resturant. If you have lighter eaters you might split one rack between 3 of them.

Depends upon how much you want each person to have.

I would make 4 racks if the racks are approx. 20 inches long. A ten inch piece for each person is plenty if you are serving some side dishes as well.

I would go with a full rack for each guy and a half rack for each girl--I know this sounds sexist, but, it works! It might end up closer to three-quarters of a rack for the guys.

If you cut them into individual ribs for serving, you will make it easier for people to serve themselves the amount they want.

Happy Eating!

I would say 1/2 rack per person and then one extra rack for good measure.

5, each person gets half a rack.
One extra, just in case.
Plus all the other food of course.

Ribs How Many

probably 6-8 racks. It's ok to have too much food, but it's not ok to have too little especially if you're talking about ribs.
