I had some really old home videos transfered to Dvd. Now, I want to edit some and compile some of the clips into one short movie but it doesn't work. I can't import them to Imovie. Why? Do I need a special program?

Get Handbrake to convert DVD to MPEG. Then import the MPEG files into iMovie. Link below.
