What religion are you? For mennonites, both liberal and conservative there is a mission called 'Northern Youth Programs'. I have been there...currantly am there. It has helped me grow so much and I know that this is where God wants me to be. Don't ever say that u r going to wait to next year to be a missionary in a foreign place. God might not give you to next year! Maybe not even to tomorrow. So go now. God will provide the financial support you need. I was going to wait a year or so, so that I could work, but God kept opening doors which told me that I was to go NOW, so I went. It was a financial struggle right away, but now it isn't so much, b/c I know God will provide for me every step of the way.

Sometimes it is difficult to make decisions because you just do not know the correct thing to do. Pray. Talk to God. God already knows which way He wants you to turn. You are trying to make this decision for YOU and not for God. Open your Bible and read the very first verse that your eyes fall upon ... more than likely there will be something in that verse to help you know that God is speaking to you. If you make the incorrect decision you will know very quickly. Have faith in God that He will lead you down the right path. I applaud you for being in the ministry. Keep your eyes on the Master. He will not steer you wrong.

Think of the Apostles.
When Jesus chose them, they all had other jobs that they were called from.
The program you describe sounds like personal training via personal goals.
Begin serving the Lord at your home church. Volunteer: janitorial, grounds, children's ministry, ushering, whatever. Ask the pastor what he, or the church needs help with. Don't worry about a title, or prestige. "Minister" means "servant."
Start serving, and someone will notice and recommend you later on, and in the meantime, work at your job/career.

Don't plan on others supporting you.
You would be better off finding a liberal arts college that has a school of religion. You can get a pell grant and or student loans and still study religion. There are many colleges that are connected to denominations. You will do far better there than with campus crusade.

any minister worth his salt, works too on the side so as not to be a burden on a new church. if the church is struggling to make ends meet, the pastor should not be given a salary. ask for pledges to help you in your training but get a part time job as well.
