I just came up with this idea after having watched the videos called bumfights... I've found Dr Phil's refusal to interviewing this guest:

I personally have no hatred against any human being, indeed any single one. But why do some people hate certain group of people and abuse their human dignity? Where on earth does the evil mind come from?
I am very scared. Yes, I am sure there are more people who are generous and decent than the distracted ones. But, anyhow I am living in the same world where those number of risky people and disasters keep occurring, and thus I feel insecure with this unstable world.
And I feel so compassionate about the innocent and poor victims who had to be tortured by those sadistic wrongdoers. It is such a pity that the victims (homeless people, little kids, battered women, etc) are totally isolated from the protective institutions and supportive organizations..

Okay. Life is really not that bad. People are naturally good. Really. But sometimes, certain individuals use the trust they've established from others to do something cruel, mean, evil, or violent. Usually becuase of a belief, or becuase someone has wronged them. Don't feel insecure about our world. The unstable part of the world gives us our extremes; the extremly kind and the extremely crude; the richa nd the poor; the generous, and the greedy. Thats just life. But if you focus on the good, you don't have to let the bad affect you.

Lack of faith in a supreme being other than themselves. Also I have recently been to a lecture on the brain, and what has been discovered about it. There is an outer part the very outer edge that if damaged the human mind is more violent and cruel, and more apt to commit crimes with out and conscience. A bit ironic when we break up the word conscience we get CON
SCIENCE?

In my experience, inhumane people were often treated inhumanely as children; thus, it is the only way they know how to act.
The link you offer is not working.
Edit: Ok - I've seen the video now. While I agree with Dr. McGraw that the video-maker is exploiting people, I can't help agree with the video-maker that what Dr. McGraw is doing is very similar and often exploitative. They're both making money off people's problems, and they're both (to a greater or lesser degree) holding people up to ridicule, and treating them badly. It's only a matter of degree; Dr. McGraw simply has more power at this point.
My undergraduate degree happens to have been earned at the same university that Dr. McGraw attended, and I know quite a few people who studied psychology there (my degree is in a different field); I know that not all graduates of the University of North Texas behave as he does, and that many consider him an embarrassment. I hope he cleans up his act, and gets rid of some of the self-righteousness. He's not a bad man; he's just a person who's let his ego and comparatively sudden fame get in the way of really doing some good.

I remember that episode of Dr. Phil...
What I really took exception to was the fact that Dr. Phil brought this guy onto his show, for the sole purpose of humiliating the guy on national television, and THEN had the balls to kick him off the show, with the approval of his audience.
I lost all kinds of respect for Dr. Phil for doing this.
It seems to me that Dr. Phil has finally sunk to the level of Maury Povich and Jerry Springer, when he becomes more interested in humiliating people publically, with the approval of his audience, than actually doing what he's being paid to do, and helping people.
Go ahead and thumbs down me if you want to, but, keep in mind...there's a valid market for the Bum Fight videos, and people buy them. If there wasn't....this guy wouldn't have a job. If they were illegal they wouldn't be selling.
I don't personally watch the Bum Fight videos...but there's a market for them...so....let the guy make his money.

I do not think such people were once treated in the same way. To inflict cruelty on someone, knowing how it feels just doesn't seem true. If you had been ill - treated why would you want to do the same thing to others? I know it's a popular theory but I think it's a misconception. They are evil.

I think that its a lack of a relationship with god. We are tolled in scripture that we are born with a corrupt wicked heart that we inherit from Adam and God gives us a new heart when the Holy Spirit enters us. A few months ago I would have said that most people are good and the people that you where talking about are rare. But after some of the things that I've witnessed in the last couple of months I think that the majority of people would do evil things if they could get away with it in our society. I think also that good godly people bring out the evil and wickedness in the ungodly because it shines a light on the darkness. The people don't know why they are doing these evil things but in reality the demons they are harbor are telling them to do it through their thoughts.

The suggestion that people are evil because they don't believe in God is ridiculous. Was every member slave trader and every member of the Ku Klux Klan an atheist then?
