I think I am really close to getting 6 pack abs. This is because I was while I was changing in the bathroom and I started to cough. While I was coughing, in the mirror I could see my abs starting to show (you could see the lines if you know what I mean). How much longer do you think it may take to make them show?

it depends on what your current body fat % is. for most that do not have extremely muscular abdominals you will be able to see the entire abdominal wall with out flexing at around 10-11% body fat. however most usually have to get down to 6-8% before you see the bottom 2 abs below the navel area with out having to flex.

the diet that you follow ultimately determines the level of body fat that you have. if you are already eating healthy then the next best thing is to excite the metabolic rate. this comes from training at maximum intensity. with weights this equates to using loads that are around 80% or greater than the 1RM. with cardio you basically want to be sprinting which is why interval training is one of the best methods used to help decrease body fat levels.

when i started running track at school i noticed the dim lines. i started doing push ups, sit ups, and crunches, and within about a month i had a decent 6 pack. but it only took that long because i had prior exercise. maybe a couple of months for you if you keep exercising.
